Playa is a party town
For
going out, people run the same party path in Playa del Carmen every night.
- First down to the Dragon Bar at the Blue Parrot Hotel for 2
for 1 drinks on the beach at Calle 12 (try to get a swing). Blue Parrot
Hotel has live music some nights, a sports bar with the best BBQ in
town, and the only sushi in the area.
- From there you can stagger down the beach to dance at Captain Tutix
on the beach at 4th.
-
La Rana Cansada, on 10th St. between 5th and 10th Ave., is
the place where locals go out for drinks. Nice atmosphere.
-
For the hippest bar in town. hit Fly, at the corner of 5th
Avenue and 12th Street. Go upstairs from Hotel Deseo. Total Miami
Beach experience like a tropical Delano. Outdoor seating overlooking
5th Avenue, a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and pool deck. Great attention
to design and details.
-
For a perfect people watching drink, try the Tequilaria on
Quinta Avenida. You can do shots from $5 to $300 bottles of tequila.
Cascahuin is the best for the price.
-
Sharky's and Jaime's Beer Bucket is on Calle 10, between10 Avenue and 15 Avenue. They show all the big games and it is lively on Fridays. It is really 2 bars, one upstairs and one down. The Beer Bucket is well known by local expats.
-
Cabalova is a nicer bar next to the Mosquito Blue hotel that
shows movies on some nights.
-
Tam Tam is a beach club that plays music night and day, down
next to Coco Beach.
-
The Hypnosis disco is sometimes popular, but empty at other
times
