Cancun South is an opinionated travel guide written for the independent traveler who wants to explore Mexico's Mayan Riviera. Mexico is an easy and safe place to travel. In this area, people are friendly to tourists from all countries and many speak English (and often German and Italian as well).

All inclusive hotels offer package deals to bring people to Cancun, the Playacar Resort and dozens of huge hotel complexes scattered up and down the coast. They are great for people not used to traveling or people who just want to stay on the hotel grounds and never leave. You pay one price for your room, drinks, food, and entertainment. There are often sales and packages through travel agents.

All inclusives range from $500 - $1200+ for 7 days - per person. Honestly, if you have more than 3 people you can rent a beautiful house and hire a cook for that. You can get a very nice hotel in Playa del Carmen for under $70 a night for 2, eat well for $25 a day and even rent a car for a day to see more of the Mayan Riviera.

All Inclusive Hotels

If you have questions about any of the all inclusive hotels, look on the city pages and city directories for help or visit the websites and message boards below. Any ones we know anything about are described in the city pages or on this page. Most of these hotels are strictly off limits to locals (like us) and other non-guests, so your guess is as good as mine.

They all look nice and posh from the outside Many are under construction so be sure to request a room away from any ongoing construction. In Playacar, some of the hotels are on the beach and others are across the beach with access to the beach club so ask specifically if you want to be on the beach side.

Travelers have sent us comments about all inclusive hotels in Mexico, and you can read review summaries to help you with your decision.

Inform Others

If you have stayed in an all inclusive hotel on the Mayan Riviera (Cancun, Playacar, Tulum, etc.) we welcome your comments - good or bad.
