Cancun South

Cancun South was established in the fall of 1997 to provide tourist information about the rapidly growing tourist destination known as the Riviera Maya. At that time there were no professionally designed and developed internet travel guides focusing on Mexico's Caribbean beach towns.

Company Information

Cancun South currently maintains offices in Playa del Carmen and Cancun, Mexico, and Arlington, Virginia. The Mexican offices support our clients located in Mexico. The US office will be responsible for business development, administrative support, promotions, and US client support.

Founders

Cancun South founders, Antony Maderal and Leah Wampler Maderal moved from Washington, DC to Playa del Carmen, Mexico in January of 1998 to begin development of this travel guide. Over a year was spent traveling throughout the region to accumulate the many facts about the wide variety of tourist destinations located here in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Company Objective

The primary objective of Cancun South is that of providing independent tourists a valuable resource while planning their visits to Mexico. The main site highlights many lesser known travel spots and informs visitors of unique characteristics found in this region. The presence of a rich Mayan history and culture is underscored throughout the pages of Cancun South.
